Use Extra Caution and Stay FIRE safe during pandemic

In the response to COVID-19, many households are dealing with unusual routines to include working from home and kids schooling from home.  The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is urging everyone to use added caution around home fire safety.

Cooking is one of the leading causes of home fires.  Unattended cooking or distracted cooking during these unusual and out of the ordinary routines can occur if we are not keeping our eyes on what we are doing in the kitchen.

Heating equipment is another cause of home fires according the NFPA.  With everyone at home, our heating systems may be running for more hours than usual.

Distribution of electric or lighting equipment may also cause home fires.  With everyone plugging into the outlets to charge phones, computers, laptops or to add more lighting may present a fire hazard.

Remember to stay fire-safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and always.

If you experience a fire in your home, call SERVPRO of Medina County/Gateway/Western Lake County for any of your needed fire cleaning services.
